Northumbria Healthcare Foundation Trusts' Primary Mental Health Work Service is excited to announce a vacancy for a Senior Mental Health Whole School approach Lead Co-Ordinator.
This vacancy is a permanent 30 hours per week Band 7 position within the Be You Mental Health Support Team.
The team delivers into Hexham, Blyth, Ashington, Bedlington, Alnwick, Coquet, Cramlington and Seaton Valley partnership of schools. This role will support Designated Senior Mental Health Leads in trailblazer schools.
It is an essential requirement of the role that the post holder has a valid driving license and is either a car owner and able to use the car for work purposes, or has a Trust personal lease vehicle which may be used for the role. However, the Trust would consider making reasonable adjustments to the role, if necessary, to enable a disabled person to undertake the role.
This post holder will work with the Be You clinical leadership team to provide a strategic, co-ordination lead role overseeing the whole school approach. This will involve delivery and evaluation of strategic and operational plans.
The role will work flexibly across a range of education providers to support pupils, staff and parents/carers.
To act as professional, strategic and co-ordination lead for the delivery of the whole school approach function of the Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) delivery model, supporting Designated Senior Mental Health Leads.
T o work flexibly across a range of education providers which includes primary, secondary, specialist and further education settings and support them to implement changes that positively impact on education provisions including pupils, staff and parents/carers.
To provide coaching, supervision and continuous professional development for Senior Mental Health Leads in schools and members of the MHSTs in Northumberland.
To coordinate the completion and review of whole school audits and use this to support the development of action plans.
To continuously review and improve established data systems and support with the collation of data returns for national and local reporting purposes.
To contribute to the delivery and evaluation of annual strategic and operational plans within the MHSTs.
To work with the Primary Mental Health Team Senior Leads to ensure financial efficiency and effective use of resources available.
Line management and supervision will be provided by the Senior clinical leads with close working relationships with our educational psychology colleagues supporting in the delivery of the Be You offer.
To contribute to the development of provision at the interface of child and adolescent mental health services and schools and colleges.
To increase awareness of the needs of pupils in education settings through the sharing of whole schools’ knowledge and expertise using a model of consultation/liaison/teaching and training/research and development with educational colleagues.
To chair a network group for the Senior mental health leads in schools (SMHLs), to share best practice, discuss challenges and facilitate peer support.
To ensure timely communication of policy/service and best practice updates to key school staff.
Plan and deliver, with colleagues, an annual conference for Senior Mental Health Leads reflecting up to date evidence, key drivers influencing practice and identified professional development topics.
To develop policies and standard operating procedures for the MHST relating to the implementation of whole school approaches and contracting with settings. This will include supporting settings in relation to policy implementation.
Duties will also include the coordination of whole school audits, reviewing data systems for reporting purposes. Coaching, supervision and continuous professional development will also be provided to Senior Mental Health Leads and the Be You team.
