*Maintenance Technician - Permanent - Full Time role*

Monday - Friday 7.30 - 4pm - from £12.74 dependant on experience and expertise

Based on site in Reading

We are recruiting for a Fabric Technician for our client delivering IFM services. They are one of the largest facilities management providers in the world and this is an exciting time to join them.

*You will be supporting the Site Senior Electrical Engineer and Site General Services Manager.*

*The main assignments you will be responsible for are, but not limited to:*
- Maintenance and reactive repair to fabric items such as doors, windows etc.
- Minor decorating tasks
- Undertake training and appointment as a Competent Person in appropriate disciplines
- Be proactive to identify and report faults with site equipment and take steps to resolve
- Be proactive to ensure all H&S issues are reported/escalated as required
- Report service affecting issues to the site management team for formal communication with the client
- If we give you safety equipment, protective clothing or footwear you must use it. Clothing and overalls must be kept clean
- Participation in on-call rota
- Be adaptable to the introduction and innovation of new technology and working techniques
- Develop good working relationships with client staff at all levels
- Ensuring data is provided for input to contractual monitoring (KPI’s)
- Attend training courses as required
- Provide Effluent relief cover during absences (annual leave/sickness)

*Essential Skills*
- IOSH Passport or CSCS Card
- 5 years’ experience in a property maintenance environment
- High level of practical knowledge of relevant employment, Health & Safety and general legislative requirements
- Good interpersonal skills
- Numerate and computer literate
- The ability to listen to others understand and interpret their views
- Personal presentation must be of a high professional standard
- Prioritizing own workload and working under own initiative with minimal supervision
- Supervising/monitoring/escorting of subcontractors
- Must hold UK driving license
- Proof of eligibility to work in UK

*Desirable*

Previous appointments CP for one or more of the following disciplines:

- Working at Height
- Confined spaces

You will be working in a very busy fast paced environment. We are looking for a flexible person with a can do attitude. Previous School Maintenance, construction or military experience would stand you in good stead to be a good fit for this role.
