A Senior Geotechnical Engineer position has come available in Manchester for a medium sized international design consultancy with a family feel but offering leverage to win/work on large scale and complex transportation and infrastructure design schemedthroughout the UK.

Due to an increase in workload, the Geotechnical team are looking at expanding with a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to sit directly under the Associate Director to help manage projects from inception through to completion, mentor/manage the team and helpbuild the department across a range of offices.

The position as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer will have direct line managemnt responsibility of junior engineers and will be situated in Manchester / Salford Quays with free onsite parking and easy tram links for commuting, although this consultancy workon a flexible basis.

Your work as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer will consist of reviewing desk studies, risk assessments, foundation assessments, piling/earthworks specs, as well as designing across all aspects of slopes, foundations and retaining structures etc.

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you should be able to demonstrate:

- 1st degree in Civil Engineering with a relative MSc in Geotechnics or Soil Mechanics.
- Chartered with ICE or CGeol
- Will have proven previous experience of undertaking: geotechnical desk studies; procuring & supervising Ground Investigations (GIs),
- Demonstrable experience of geotechnical design together with a familiarity of design submission documentation. This includes a demonstrable understanding of the underlying principles and a knowledge of Eurocode 7
- Ability to use a range of geotechnical software/FE for the design of civil engineering projects including the following: deep and shallow foundations (including pile group analysis); embedded and gravity retaining walls; earthworks/slope stability; reinforcedearthworks etc.
- Full UK driving licence
