Private Housekeeper

Part-Time Housekeeper - 30 Hours per Week (£1,680 per Month)

We are a warm and welcoming family living in the beautiful Scottish Borders countryside. We’re looking for a kind, reliable, and hardworking Part-Time Housekeeper to help keep our home running smoothly for around 30 hours per week. The ideal person will take pride in their work, be child friendly, love animals, have excellent cooking skills and enjoy being part of a friendly family household.

Hours & Pay
- 30 hours per week (10am to 4pm Mon-Fri)
- £14 per hour (£1,680 per month gross based on 30 hours weekly)
- Self employed position

Main Duties
- Following simple allergy protocols in the home (will be discussed)
- Daily and deep cleaning of all areas of the home to a very high standard, including: Dusting and polishing all surfaces and furniture
- Vacuuming and mopping all floors
- Cleaning bathrooms, sinks, showers, and toilets, restocking toilet rolls and soap, refreshing towels and bath mats as needed.
- Changing and washing bed linen and towels
- Cleaning kitchen surfaces, cupboards, and appliances
- Emptying bins and managing recycling
- Wiping down doors, skirting boards, and light switches
- Window cleaning as needed both inside and out
- Cleaning interior glass, mirrors, and picture frames
- Spot-cleaning walls and maintaining a fresh, tidy environment
- Sanitising high-touch areas throughout the home
- Laundry, ironing, and wardrobe organisation
- Managing household supplies and restocking essentials
- Taking in parcels and deliveries, unpacking, and storing neatly
- Keeping records of what has been done and what needs done
- Grocery shopping and putting away neatly, collecting household items for family, and running errands.
- Excellent cooking skills for cooking weekly meals, baking for family and associated kitchen duties such as meal prep or tidying after meals.
- Caring for family pets (feeding, filling up water fountains and cleaning them out, help with grooming/brushing, cleaning (pet cleanup), giving attention for cats good wellbeing, and maintaining their areas).
- Caring for plants and keeping the home beautifully presented.
- Assisting with occasional deep cleans, seasonal tasks, and organisation projects.
- Help with organisation and decluttering.
- Flexibility to take on other reasonable house-related duties as they arise.
- Help with cleaning cottage on site for guests arriving and leaving (as and when needed) and maintaining laundry and supplies for cottage.
- Sometimes helping elderly relatives with cleaning duties for a few hours (out of 30 hours or extra hours given).
- House and pet sitting for family when away.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in housekeeping or private household roles.
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in maintaining very high standards.
- Reliable, trustworthy, and respectful of family privacy.
- Warm, positive attitude and ability to work independently.
- Comfortable caring for animals (cats, chickens, and fish).
- Child friendly
- Full driving licence essential due to countryside location.
