We are currently looking for Part Time and Full Time supply TAs for schools in the Ipswich area. The position is to work with young people with additional needs.

The role will allow you to experience different SEN school environments and provide experience in varying kinds of classrooms. We will make sure you are suited to a school that suits your soft skills and experience. You will be working with young people with additional needs and will be providing them the experience they need to progress in their learning journey. You would be working with pupils who could have behavioural needs, Autism and in some cases physical needs. You will learn methods used by schools to educate their students.

The Role
- To provide cover for schools that are in need of a TA
- Assist the learning in the classroom, as advised by the teacher
- Ensure care is provided to pupils, ensuring that all their needs are met
- Encourage the education of the pupils, and inspire them to learn, providing assistance in a one to one setting when required.
- Assist with lunch and snack times
- Ensure the safety of the children at all times
- Monitor and assist in outside activities
- Engage the pupils in extracurricular activities which could range from school trips, to soft room and sensory play, to forest school, swimming and more.
- To ensure that the children receive the assistance they require, this may involve assisting them in therapy such as speech and language, rebound therapy or any other kind of therapy provided by the school
- Adaptable to circumstances and able to fulfil the roles requires in each cover position
- To be compassionate and caring to the students
- Prioritise safeguarding and ensure that each student is cared for equally
- Be personable and friendly to students and staff members
- Have the ability to remain calm and empathetic
- Be confident in their ability to understand the needs of the children and adapt to the differing needs of each student
- Remain flexible within the job role
- Feel excited about the opportunities that could occur within this position
- Maintain a positive attitude for the students
- Degree educated is desirable or a TA qualification, health and social care or childcare
