Interim Payroll Project Lead

Robertson Bell are pleased to be supporting one of the UK’s best known and largest organisations to recruit two interim Payroll Project Lead (Finance) on an initial six-to-nine-month contract.
Our client is currently undergoing a period of change, including a retender for their outsourced payroll provider and complete review of existing systems, processes and structure. This role will be integral to the successful delivery of this transformation.
These roles can be worked remotely, or alternatively from one of my clients’ main hubs in London and Leeds 1-2 days per week.
**Key responsibilities will include**:
- Managing the existing contract with the outsourced payroll provider and playing an important part in the retender process.
- Conducting a wholesale review of existing systems and processes, with the support of the wider project team, documenting the AS IS and designing the TO BE.
- Rolling out solutions to tackle existing weaknesses and supporting the team in adopting these new systems and processes.
- Interrogating historical data and information through robust reconciliation and engagement with key stakeholders.
- Reviewing the existing team structure and providing support to the Head of Payroll in restructuring the function.
**You will need**:
- Experience of running payroll within a sizeable organisation (500+ employees) and implementing notable changes to a payroll function.
- To have worked with an outsourced provider, ideally payroll.
- Finance experience including strong reconciliation and analytical skills, as well as sound comprehension of double entry bookkeeping.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build robust relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
