**An opportunity has arisen for a part time Homelessness Assistant within the Council’s Homelessness and Housing Advice Service, to provide a front-line reception service for people in housing need and to provide administrative support the work carried out by Homelessness Service.**

**The role**:
The post holder will be based on the front desk of a very busy service providing information on a range of housing issues and arranging appointments with housing advisors, for people who are homeless or in housing need. This role is 20 hours a week working Monday to Friday from 1pm to 5pm.

**Applicants** must**:

- You will need to have strong administration and organisational skills.
- You must be experienced in dealing with vulnerable people from all walks of life who find themselves in difficult, distressing and desperate situations.
- You must be able to work in a demanding, pressured environment.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
