Job Description: Student Administrator & Receptionist
Location: Derby Campus, UK Management College (UKMC)
**Salary**: From £23,795.00 per year
Additional Pay: Bonus Scheme
UK Management College (UKMC) is looking for dynamic and confident individuals to join our team as a Student Administrator & Receptionist at our Derby Campus. This role combines administrative responsibilities with front-desk reception duties, offering a varied and fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. You will play a key role in supporting students, faculty, and visitors by providing excellent customer service and efficient administrative support. This is an office-based role located at our Derby campus.
Key Responsibilities
As a Student Administrator, you will be responsible for:
Liaising with colleagues and students to coordinate interview schedules and admissions procedures.
Assisting in Admissions-related events, including open days, orientation, and student recruitment activities.
Providing general administrative support to the Admissions Team under the supervision of the Administration Team Leader.
As a Receptionist, you will:
Greet students, staff, and visitors in a friendly, professional manner and ensure the reception area is welcoming and well-maintained.
Manage appointments and bookings for meetings, interviews, and campus visits.
Distribute incoming mail and manage outgoing post.
Handle visitor sign-ins and ensure compliance with campus security protocols.
Essential Requirements
1+ years of office-based experience in a receptionist or administrative role (preferably within the education sector).
Proven administrative skills: highly organised, proactive, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Multitasking abilities: able to juggle various tasks, such as managing student queries, coordinating interviews, and maintaining records.
Excellent communication skills: fluent in English, with the ability to deal confidently, tactfully, and sensitively with people from diverse backgrounds.
Strong IT skills: proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and quick to learn new systems.
Attention to detail: ability to process information accurately while working under pressure.
Discretion and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
Team player: able to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues across different departments.
Flexibility: open to adapting work practices to suit changing business needs.
