The Domestic Supervisor will be part of a team supervising services at Fairfield General Hospital and Royal Oldham Hospital and community areas.

The post will be 20 hours per week over 5 days to include weekends.

The hours will vary between 7am and 7pm and will be for 4 hours per day.
- To undertake any other reasonable duty, which is appropriate to the band, when requested by Senior Staff
- To be familiar with and comply with all Trust and departmental policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines
- To be aware of and work towards the Trusts strategic goals Standards of Business Conduct
- The post holder will be required to comply with the organisations standing order and standing financial instructions and at all times, deal honestly with the organisation with colleagues and all those who have dealing with the organisation including patients, relative and suppliers
- The post holder must ensure that their behaviour and interests inside and outside work do not conflict with their Trust position, duties and/or responsibilities
- The post holder must comply with and support the development of the performance standards within the service/department to ensure the service is responsive to and meets the needs of its customers
- The post holder will be required to develop and maintain good working relationships with all patients, service users, staff, contractors and where appropriate, members of the public.

1. To assist the Domestic Services Manager in ensuring that Domestic services are provided to all relevant wards and departments in accordance with the Trust Cleaning Policy, Trust Cleaning Schedule, National Cleaning Standards and CIES department procedures.
2. To act as the main day to day point of contact for the Domestic services at assigned sites.
3. To be responsible for the direct supervision of the Trust’s Domestic staff at each site and to provide cover to other Domestic Supervisors in the department.
4. To ensure that wards and any other sites are given adequate domestic cover within establishment limits and to make adequate provision for cleaning services during periods of domestic staff holidays and sickness absence.
5. To carry out check visits to in-patient and non-inpatient areas on a weekly basis and take action to rectify any cleanliness issues.
6. To review the results of the cleaning audits carried out by the Trust monitoring team and rectify any areas of fail.
7. To assist the Domestic Services Manager with the recruitment and selection of Domestic Services staff.
8. To assist the Domestic Services Manager in the management of Domestic staff sickness absence in line with the Trust Managing Attendance Policy.
9. To ensure that all new starters to the Domestic team are provided with local induction training and that existing members of staff receive refresher training as required.
10. To support Domestic staff in accessing the Trust’s e-learning module and to monitor staff compliance through supervision.
11. To carry out IPDR for the Domestic staff that report directly to you in line with Trust policy.
12. Through training and monitoring ensure that Domestic staff carry out their duties in a manner that is safe and compliant with department procedures and COSHH requirements.
13. To report any faults or malfunctions in defective machinery, fabric and furnishings.
14. To complete all necessary administrative records within department time scales including authorising weekly timesheets/clock cards prior to SMART input.
15. To process requisitions, within authorisation limits, for cleaning materials and equipment and to maintain adequate stock levels.
16. The post-holder will be required to maintain personal compliance with Core and Essential Skills Training (CEST) and to also attend other training courses as considered necessary.
17. Carry out toolbox talks and refresher training (COSHH, Risk Assessments etc).
18. To abide by all relevant Trust Policies and procedures.
