The Support Playwoker will assist in implementing the organisation’s innovative childcare service. While ensuring that the Quality and Implementation of all Gingerbread & Edinburgh Lothians Ltd after-school clubs are delivering childcare at the highest standard. Keeping with all local and national requirements.

'''Responsibilities'''
Observe children and implement strategies to support and enhance the development of each child.

Integrate children within the pick-up by removing barriers to allow equal opportunities.

Support the ongoing development of children's profiles.

Communicate with parents/carers/colleagues/schools and other related agencies continuously.

Collect and deliver children from school.

Passing important information to staff, parents, and children.

Administering First Aid and medication as appropriate.

Supporting children with intimate care if necessary.

Reporting any staffing issues to Playleaders/Seniors within company guidelines.

Reporting children/parent issues to Playleaders/Seniors/Office Staff.

Attend and be aware of mandatory/appropriate training courses stipulated by SSSC and Care Inspectorate.

Opportunity to attend in-house training.

Undertake induction and 6-month probation period.

Attending staff meetings where time in-lieu will be given if required.

Attend all staff reviews, appraisals, and one-to-one supervision.

Carry out and maintain risk assessments.

Opportunity to work at holiday playschemes.

Being conscientious, respectful, and having integrity about other roles and responsibilities.

Undertake any other jobs your line manager asks in line with work practices.

To be flexible within Gingerbread Edinburgh & Lothians Ltd with movement around after-school clubs.

'''Qualifications'''
The post holder will be expected to have or working toward the relevant qualification in childcare SVQ 2 Playwork/CCLD or any other similar qualification or higher, as well as a certificate in First Aid.

**Special notes**

The playworker is responsible for the cost of their PVG each year or whenever stipulated by the organisation and any other expenses incurred by registering with the SSSC or any other body
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to engage and connect with children of different ages and backgrounds
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with children
- Basic knowledge of child development principles
- First Aid/CPR certification is a plus

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: £11.52 per hour

Expected hours: 17.5 - 20 per week
