The Microsoft Security Response Center team (MSRC) is looking for security researchers to join us in protecting Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) systems from threats to security and privacy.
MSRC is part of the defender community and on the front line of security response evolution. Our mission is to protect employees, customers, communities, and Microsoft from threats to privacy and security.
This role offers a unique opportunity to solve real-world security and privacy challenges, informed by vulnerability data from production AI/ML systems, leading to mitigations that can be deployed at Microsoft and beyond.

**Responsibilities**:
- Reproducing reported vulnerabilities, identifying the root cause, and assessing their severity;
- Working with product teams to comprehensively remediate vulnerabilities;
- Identifying new research opportunities based on vulnerability trends;
- Investigating new security and privacy vulnerabilities in AI/ML systems;
- Designing scalable mitigations for threats to AI/ML systems;
**Qualifications**:
**Required**:
- Background in security vulnerability response/research;
- Knowledge or experience with AI/ML (e.g., relevant courses and/or practical implementation experience);
- Software development skills and experience;
- Creative and collaborative approach to problem-solving;
**Preferred**:
- Graduate level courses in AI/ML or equivalent experience;
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
