An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Prosthetics Service for a Physiotherapy Assistant. We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic and innovative person to join our friendly team. This is a new role to support development of the service and will be peripatetic, predominantly between bases in Cornwall, with occasional attendance at The Thornberry Centre.

Main Duties

You will work alongside the MDT which includes physiotherapists, prosthetists and nurses to support rehabilitation of patients who have undergone amputation / limb absence. You will predominantly support the Physiotherapists to deliver treatment to patients within the prosthetics service but will help other members of the MDT with duties such as assisting with casting as required.

Main tasks will include supporting patients with exercise programmes, the fitting of Early Walking Aids, providing assistance and teaching patients to don, doff and care for their prosthetic limbs, assist patients to manage walking and work towards their individual goals. This includes working both as part of a team and alone.
