We now have a fantastic opportunity for an HR Apprentice to join our growing People team based in Cheltenham.
**The team**
Wiggin's Human Resource (HR) function has seen considerable growth over recent years and continues to develop alongside the rest of the firm, with a focus on refining and developing our people processes and ensuring we provide the best possible working experience for all employees.
**The role**
The role would suit an enthusiastic individual who is keen to start a career in HR. The HR Apprentice will support the HR team in providing a high-quality service to the firm. There are opportunities for the HR Apprentice to gain exposure to all areas of HR, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations and Learning and Development, as well as working on some exciting value-add projects.
The HR Apprentice will be required to attend Gloucester College to complete the HR Support CIPD Level 3 Assessment during the 18-month apprenticeship. Funding to complete this course will be provided by Wiggin.
**General duties**
The role includes but is not restricted to, the following duties.
**General HR**:
- Provide HR administration support throughout the employee lifecycle ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Monitor and maintain the HR mailbox, ensuring a high-level stakeholder service is provided and escalation occurs when required.
- Input data into the HR portal including new joiners, leavers, variations and assisting with any annual leave queries.
- Manage the onboarding and induction for all new joiners, including pre-employment screening checks.
- Provide first line advice to managers on HR matters.
- Support with note taking during formal HR meetings including probation reviews, disciplinaries and performance management.
- Provide reports and data to the HR team as requested.
- Liaising with the Payroll Executive to ensure all data is captured correctly for the monthly payroll.
- Maintain employee files on the firm internal document management system (iManage).
- Working on ad-hoc projects, as and when needed.
**Recruitment**:
**Learning and Development**:
- Provide administration support to the Learning and Development team.
- Liaising with the hospitality team to ensure the efficient organisation of all onsite training courses.
**Requirements**:
- A Levels, graded A - C or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Microsoft office.
- A positive ‘can do’ attitude.
- Keen to learn about all areas of HR including recruitment and Learning and Development.
- Provide a high level of customer service.
- Able to adhere to policies and procedures, using your initiative and being flexible where required.
- Able to respond to changing priorities.
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good organisational skills, able to manage own workload and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all levels of the organisation.
- Problem solving skills, following through to resolution or escalating where necessary.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Able to maintain confidentiality at all times.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 18 months
**Salary**: £17,184.11-£51,361.67 per year
