We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Patient Pathway Coordinator (medical secretary) to our administration team within the Southampton Children's Hospital.

The role involves a variety of responsibilities including secretarial duties, clinic administration, managing patient pathways and effective communication with a wide range of stakeholders.

We are looking for dynamic and enthusiastic individuals with experience of providing first class administrative support and customer service, ideally within a healthcare environment. You will create new working relationships in an inclusive and diverse environment in line with our Trust values.

You will join our well established, experienced and supportive Child Health administrative team who are hard working and commited to patient care.

The team comprises of Patient Pathway Coordinators and Administrative Assistants who support our clinical teams to provide outstanding patient care.

Hours will cover core hours between 9-5

Your Responsibilities

What you’ll do

Working within the Children’s Hospital administration team you will:

- Manage patient pathways, facilitating the smooth running of the patient journey in accordance with agreed timescales
- Work closely with your clinical team to provide a comprehensive and streamlined administrative service including secretarial duties

What we’re looking for
- Extensive experience of working in an administrative capacity within a customer focused environment
- The ability to demonstrate resilience and work accurately under pressure with an eye for detail
- Demonstrable ability to work to deadlines, prioritise and multitask in a calm and diligent manner
- Proven ability to work independently, seeking appropriate guidance where necessary
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written, verbal or in person.
