**A quick look at the role.**
Working on one of Biffa's most prestigious Municipal Contracts with a workforce of circa 140 employees, an annual turnover of approximately £7.8m and a fleet of approximately 55 vehicles, as Service Delivery Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervisingoperational activities to the highest standards for the Collections and Street Cleansing services on behalf of the Client and residents of Epping Forest. This vitally important role will involve managing the workforce in the achievement of their daily/weekly/monthlytasks while ensuring the safe and efficient completion of the service within the requirements of the Contract.
With line management responsibility, you will be required to conduct team briefings, address staff on an individual and group basis helping build engagement and workforce relationships.

Biffa's household waste division delivers a range of cost-efficient, quality-led waste management services for 31 local authorities across the UK. With over 3,300 staff and around 1,562 specialist vehicles, our domestic waste management division makes 4.3million collections each week from over 2.3 million households across Britain.
Biffa's street cleansing division delivers a host of requirements to Biffa's local authority contracts, and sees its teams make cleanliness a reality for public roads, streets and pavements, as well as some of England's most popular beaches.
With ‘smart' mechanised sweepers, as well as traditional brooms and hand carts, Biffa's street cleansing staff service town centres, residential areas, car parks and public spaces, as well as public toilets, carriageways and gullies. This often makes themhighly visible to local residents, many of whom contact their local council and Biffa to express their appreciation for this important local service. Other duties include clearing abandoned vehicles and other bulky items, as well as removing fly tipping andgraffiti.

Monitoring workforce performance against targets to ensure all daily/weekly/monthly KPIs are met. Implement and monitor action plans to address variances between target and actual. Address any ongoing issues as appropriate.
Ensuring that all Company policies and procedures and legal obligations are understood and adhered to by all members of staff.
Developing and maintain excellent working relationships with the Client and internal/external customers.
Carrying out induction and safety training on a regular basis for all staff.
Ensuring that vehicle safety check are carried out and suitable repairs completed.
Managing staffing levels and holidays to meet the business needs.
Responsible for submitting accurate and timely attendance records for operational staff.
Ensuring all staff and third parties comply with Company Health and Safety procedures at all times. Attendance at SIT meetings if required, promotion of best practice.
Management of employee relations issues, including employee absence issues, grievances and disciplinary within the scope of Company procedures and statutory guidelines.
Ensuring that all LGV, Plant & Machinery equipment is maintained and compliant in accordance with legal and company requirements.
**Here's what we require**:
Strong experience of people management with line management responsibility preferably in a heavily unionised environment.
Team Leader NVQ or equivalent.
A good understanding of HR scenarios and people management activities.
Experience of managing staff in a time-critical environment.
Previous experience of working in a logistics environment and a large/PLC organisation is desirable.
Computer literate and comfortable using business software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of how to compile business reports and adapting data for the required audience.
Strong communication skills - both written and verbal.
Strong self-organisational skills and effective prioritisation.
Minimum GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths, however A-Levels or a Degree certainly won't do any harm.
The ability to work within a commercially driven service critical environment.
Proven track record of working to clearly defined service delivery KPI's.
Proven track record of delivering continuous improvement within an operational / service environment.
