Main Purpose of the Role:
As part of the residential cleaning team you will undertake the cleaning of designated areas of Hartpury’s student accommodation to ensure that the accommodation is kept in a clean and hygienic condition.
The role changes depending on the time of the year. For the largest part of each year when students are in residence, the focus is to clean the student accommodation which includes bedrooms, bathrooms and communal areas and kitchens. During the summer period the work will also encompass deep cleaning of the student accommodation whilst supporting the cleaning and housekeeping duties that are required for the summer guests who reside on campus.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
The Residence Assistant/Cleaner is expected to carry out the following duties to high quality standards. The timing, location and duration of such activities would be at the discretion and direction of line management.
To clean: Floors, walls, stairs, working surfaces, windows, tiled surfaces, toilets, white goods, furniture, and fittings.
The use of: Brushes, dusters, scourers and a variety of cleaning agents.
To care for and operate: Vacuum cleaners, wet vacuums, steam cleaners and carpet shampooers.
Additional tasks:
1. Emptying and cleaning of waste bins, removal of bagged waste to external waste bins, make and strip beds, make cursory inspections and report on condition of student rooms, check and report on faults.
2. As part of a team, to provide students with a secure environment in which to live and stay.
3. To implement all the relevant procedures, policies and codes of practice required by the Care Standards Act in preparation for the inspection for colleges for under 18 provision.

£14,872 per annum (based on an FTE of £22,308 per annum)

A minimum of 25 hours per week
