Great Opportunity here at Aviva for an experienced Construction Underwriter.

Aviva has a strong background in construction insurance in the UK, 4 years ago we expanded our offering to write international construction risks and since then we have continued to grow and this is a great chance for a skilled individual to join us and be part of our new projected growth

**Accountabilities**:

- Reviewing underwriting submissions - ensuring they are within strategy
- Calculating appropriate risk premium by considering the risk and utilising pricing tools
- Effective relationship management with brokers and clients
- Servicing of new and existing accounts (endorsements, account queries)
- Working collaboratively in a team environment, assisting underwriters, underwriting assistants and management team

**Skills/Experience Required**:

- Knowledge of London market business and how the London market works in terms of placement
- Competent IT skills
- Confident and articulate - needs to be comfortable engaging with brokers and undertaking negotiations
- Analytical - be able to review submissions and understand if it is a risk Aviva wishes to underwrite
- Self motivated team player
- Lateral thinker - the ability to not just follow the process until the computer gives the answer
