Head of Index Platform Strategy

This role will lead a new team within Benchmark & Index Solutions that oversees the end-to-end development of new or legacy index platforms. Manages all aspects of definition and planning through to development, release, and end-of-life.

Key responsibilities of the role:

- Oversee the build out of the Index Platform Strategy team. Assessing the resource needs for this function and determining the best organizational structure to support the business.
- Gathering complex requirements from a wide variety of internal stakeholders, partnering with Technology to translate this into a clearly articulated end-to-end delivery roadmap, with tangible milestones aligned with business deliverables and revenue drivers.
- Engage directly with external customers and partners to validate our technology roadmap.
- Formulating detailed end-to-end roadmaps to support the delivery of index product plans.
- Communicating the strategic technical vision and aligned delivery roadmap/plans to senior leadership.
- Member of B&I Leadership team, with responsibility for index platform roadmap.
- Facilitate, design, and provide guidance to future state Benchmark & Index Solutions operating model to streamline and align product delivery.

Key Skills:

- Team management with ability to develop and get the best out of colleagues
- Strong product and technical knowledge of financial indices and analytics, and a good understanding of the utility to end users
- Proven track record of developing index calculation engine solutions (both quantitative, benchmark and real-time), across the full spectrum of assets, including fixed income, equities, commodities, inflation, rates, FX et cetera
- Experience of complex index calculation/platform migration projects preferred
- Proven ability to work with both technical and non-technical consumers
- Capability to contribute to strategy development and decision making
- Self-motivated, passionate, solution and team orientated
- Ability to understand the business and practices of a global organization and to deliver to demands in an agile way that meets customer demands.
- Ability to make decisions and take ownership for them
- Eagerness to investigate and learn and ability to break down boundaries
- Strong analytical abilities
- Extensive experience in product delivery using modern technologies, engineering principles and design such as microservices, API-driven, cloud engineering, DevOps, CI/CD, test automation.
- Extensive experience with agile delivery methodologies and tools, etc.
