Skilled Labourer

**Job Overview**
Non-licensed Removal of Asbestos Containing Materials. Soft striping.

**Duties**
- Assisting with site preparation, including loading and unloading materials and equipment. Securing work areas for asbestos removal and repairs.
- Performing general labouring tasks that involve heavy lifting, and manual handling.
- Safely repairing / removing and disposing of asbestos-containing materials from roofs, ceilings, walls, floors, boilers and more.
- Packaging and removing asbestos waste in skips or loading in sealed vehicles to be taken at a licensed landfill, as per current guidelines.
- Safely soft-striping sites using various tools.
- Using a variety of plant and specialist equipment including airless sprayers and injection equipment, handheld tools and battery-operated tools, scrappers, safety knifes, spray, paint.
- Wearing specialist protective equipment including coveralls, gloves, protection goggles, and a full-face mask which requires to have no facial hair.
- Working on industrial & commercial premises, and domestic properties.
- Decontaminating: PPE, plant and premises, and yourself to ensure safety.
- Ensuring work areas are kept clean, safe, and organised at all times.
- Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times to maintain a safe working environment.

**Experience**
- Previous experience in handling asbestos, soft-striping, demolition/construction, or related fields is desirable.
- Practical knowledge of manual handling techniques and safety procedures.
- Ability to operate basic hand tools and machinery is advantageous.
- Strong logical thinking and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
- Physical fitness and stamina to undertake manual labour over extended periods. This role involves: heavy lifting, stretching and bending, working at hights using stepping tools, ladders, also working in narrow spaces.

**Requirements**:

- CSCS Card and drivers licence (**essential**)**.**:

- **For subcontractors**: UTR and CIS required (**essential**).
- Able to pass a DBS check, where required. Sometimes we will work in settings where vulnerable individuals or under 18’s might be in proximity.
- Awareness of health and safety to prevent or minimize Asbestos exposure or any other risks.
- This role will require, from time to time, working away nation-wide and staying overnight.
- Have access to a form of ID as you might be required to present one to enter sites, if you are looking to collaborate as a subcontractor.

**Desirable in date certifications, and experience**:

- Asbestos Awareness
- Telehandler and Scissor lift
- PASMA certificate
- Working at heights
- Abrasive Wheels
- IPAF Mobile Vertical 3a/ Mobile Boom 3b

You must be able to pass the Right to Work Check.

Monday to Friday. Only in exceptional cases we might ask to work over weekend, but this type of situations are extremely rare.

This is a physical demanding role. Please note we cannot accommodate you in any other role, as there are no other roles available.

Pay: £13.00-£21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 48 per week
