A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Commercial Motor Claims Handler to use experience gained within an Insurance company environment to progress into an "In House" Insurance department of this well established business. This is a unique opportunity to work in a varied role combining your extensive motor claims experience (ideally fleet) in a role that will both office based and face to face managing the risk element and educating drivers to reduce claims numbers. You will have full responsibility to manage claims within the agreed authority limit to make liability decisions based on the evidence presented. You will manage uninsured loss recoveries and liability claims and it is therefore essential that you have extensiveexperience of this combined with strong negotiation skills and good case law knowledge. Key duties: - Maintenance of relationship with brokers - Determination of all required annual insurance policies by the business (typically undertaken through close liaison with broker and main board executives. Reporting findings to Audit Committee as required and obtaining sign-off for placement of annual policieswithin financial limits etc.) - Agreeing placement of all annual policies determined as required via broker into appropriate markets (through assessment of wordings, insurer financial strengths, history of claims' payments by insurers, quotes costs to carry the risks etc.). - Agreeing and arranging required mid-term adjustments / additions to policies in conjunction with broker as required to meet new risks arising - Ensuring MID is regularly up dated and in a timely fashion. Responsibility for managing logins to database to be arranged in conjunction with broker. Arranging and agreeing Accident Management processes again in conjunction, with consideration for developmentsto driver handbook - Placing of project policies / other ad-hoc arrangements via broker as risks arise within the company. Providing advice to the company on appropriateness of where risks should be carried (ie, existing annual arrangements or under a project policy) havingregard for claims' histories, premiums charged and additional policy benefits - Handling all claims from all classes of insurance, where the same arise within the excess and with the agreement of insurers, from cradle to grave - Acting as a contact point and having oversight / audit responsibility of all claims out with the above, and ensuring sufficient information is provided to insurers or broker as required to satisfy legal requirements and to ensure beneficial handling ofclaims by insurers - Liaising with lawyers / technical experts / engineers etc. as appropriate To be considered you must have extensive claims experience ideally with exposure to fleet claims. You must be confident working independently making key decisions with mínimal supervision.
