**Part time**

Our client based in Andover is a market leader in the research, design, and manufacture of engineering undergraduate laboratory teaching equipment in the UK and renowned across the world for their commitment to quality and exceptional standard of after-salessupport.

They are looking for an AAT qualified (or equivalent) Financial Accountant to work a 3 day week alongside the company Bookkeeper.

**The role**

Working with the company Bookkeeper, the Financial Accountant will assist in the accounting function and team.

**Reporting to**: Managing Director

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Maintain the highest quality of work produced by the finance department.
- Ensure data integrity at all times;
- Communicate with all third parties in a professional manner at all times.
- Work closely with our book keeper in ensuring continuity of tasks.
- Answer telephones
- Work with our Opera and Smartvision software packages (training can be given).

**Duties**:
**Management information**:

- Production of monthly management accounts to deadline each month and circulate to Managing Director.
- Sales Ledger management
- Provision of cash flow report on a weekly basis, including detailed debtor position.

**Statutory accounts/taxation**:

- Maintaining supporting schedules and audit file to assist in the preparation of company's statutory accounts and tax computations by the company's auditors.
- Submission of monthly VAT return and VAT reconciliation.
- Ensure correct and timely payments are made to HMRC for payroll taxes.

**Cash management**:

- Credit control including checking of sales tax invoices.
- Liaise with banks, including provision of reports as required.

**Financial administration**:

- Administer the following schemes, including annual negotiation and data updates:

- Pension schemes
- Group life insurance
- General insurances

**Other**
- Commissions handling
- Cover for Bookkeeper as required
- Invoicing cover as required
- Any other tasks as required by the Directors.

**Person Specification**

Minimum AAT qualified

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software including excellent Excel skills

Knowledge and experience of:

- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Sales ledger
- Tax and Accounting legislation (e.g. IFRS, UK GAAP)
- Credit control
- HMRC payroll taxes
- VAT returns and reconciliation
- Opera and Smartvision software is an advantage but not essential
- Pro-active, methodical and detail orientated approach.
