Recra are working in partnership with a forward thinking and reputable point of sale company specialising in retail and merchandising solutions seeking a driven and enthusiastic senior buyer to join their vibrant team.

Senior Buyer

**Principal Purpose of Job**:

- To manage and expand the current supply base to include local and international suppliers.
- Reporting to the Commercial Manager, lead negotiations, assess supplier capacities, make sourcing recommendations, and ensure best purchasing practice.
- You will liaise with other colleagues around the group and facilitate intercompany trading.

**Key Responsibilities and aims**:

- Direct & Indirect purchases
- Manage and assess approved supplier list
- Introduce new suppliers in line with business strategy
- Visit / audit potential suppliers for viability, reporting back findings and actions
- Negotiations
- Sourcing of special parts
- Ensure all suppliers follow strict ethical trading procedures
- Negotiate with current suppliers to extend credit payment terms and introduce rebates
- Source alternative materials in-line with our philosophy of reuse, repurpose, and recycle
- Manage and plan long lead-time components (electrics and plastic sheet)
- A minimum of 4 years purchasing experience
- Process knowledge in injection moulding, metal fabrication and joinery
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work under pressure
- Self-motivation and self-discipline. A strong “can-do” attitude
- Good work ethic
- Flexible and adaptable
- Commercially aware.
- Have good attention to detail
- Willingness to travel
- Have valid clean driving licence
- Team worker
- Good communication skills
- Prior knowledge of “Point of Sale” will be an advantage
