Child & Adolescent Mental Health Support Team (MHST)
Leader/CBT Supervisor/Family Therapist
Base - Stockport CAMHS and Oldham CAMHS

We are looking for enthusiastic dynamic motivated individuals who are passionate about making a difference to young peoples lives.
Support Team, who will have the responsibility for delivering schools' overarching approach to providing mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people.
This service will help to reduce disadvantage by intervening early. As part of a new team you will be empowered to shape and build the service. You will help build and sustain working relationships, both with your colleagues and the wider network.
Above all we have a desire to develop a service where we can nurture and support staff to have a long term career in child mental health.

Undertake appropriate mental health assessment of children and young people referred to service and provide a range of appropriate, evidence based clinical interventions informed by assessed individual need. The post holder will provide support, advice and consultation to families/carers and other professionals involved in the life of the child/young person. This post will supervise the Emotional Health Team in Schools as appropriate and provide evidence based supervision. This post holder will work in partnership with the Operational Manager and other Operational
Leads, and will further develop the partnership working that is currently taking place between education, the local authority and the CCG.
You will also support staff in schools and colleges to help the whole system develop an understanding of how to work together to improve health and mental wellbeing.

- Provide specialist assessments of children and young people referred to the

service.
- Develop, implement and review a range of evidence-based treatment plans

informed by clinical assessment and the specific needs of the individual within their
wider social context
- Exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment and

discharge of children/young people in the context of appropriate service models.
- Provide specialist advice, guidance, consultation and training to other professional

groups, predominantly education staff.
- Undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual children and young

people and to provide advice to external agencies regarding appropriate risk
- Act as care coordinator, where appropriate, taking responsibility for initiating

planning and review of care plans
- Effectively communicate with families and other professionals involved in the life of

the child/young person
- Actively record all clinical outcomes.
- Participate in the MDT as appropriate and at the direction of senior clinicians within

the team/service.
