Overview of an Enforcement Officer
Pertemps have an exciting opportunity within Harrow Council for a self-driven and motivated Enforcement Officer to join an expanding team.
The Main Purpose of an Enforcement Officer:
- To work with areas of Enforcement, Trading Standards. Public Protection, Food Safety and Health and Safety- Following the Immigration Act 2016, where the role is customer-facing and the post holder is required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post- Act for the responsible authority under the Licensing Act 2003- Contribute to the development of solutions and operational procedures to mitigate identified risks to individuals, including consultation, liaison and partnership working- Conduct reactive and proactive sampling of water-based systems in line with statutory requirements, including for Legionella- Contact management as a matter of priority in respect of any item which is, or appears to be, of a serious nature and could impact service delivery- Following the Immigration Act 2016, where the role is customer-facing and the post holder is required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post-
- Experience of working in any of the disciplines, or closely related disciplines.- Experience in working with a range of stakeholders from public, private and third sector organisations.- Ability to carry out duties outside normal working hours as may be necessary including response to emergencies and out-of-hours services.- Evidence of an understanding of professional practice and procedure in terms of environmental, housing, animal welfare, licensing, public health and health protection.- A working and up-to-date knowledge of relevant health, safety and welfare legislation and approved codes of practice following the level of the postIf you have the necessary skills and experience for this role, please click 'apply'.
