Electrical Engineer (Specifications, Power Electrics)

Electrical Engineer sought within a global specialised manufacturer for semiconductor and power electric based solutions for a global client base.

The role of Electrical Engineer Power Electrics will be suited to experienced and qualified engineers from power electrical/electronics backgrounds with significant exposure to compiling specification data and creating working design plans, competent useof SolidWorks or similar with hands on equipment design experience ideal, but non-essential as the specifications and calculations project work is key to delivering on the remit of this role.

Reporting to the Engineering Management team the role is critical to creating design solutions from customer requirement ensuring power/semiconductor solutions meet the bespoke needs of each customer and function effectively. You will work closely with ElectricalCAD engineers and you will collaborate with the mechanical engineers and CAD technicians to ensure both meet seamlessly in design, ensuring the power electronic stacks have a stable a fully functional construction. The role requires a high level of competenciesin the reading, interpreting and creation of electrical drawings/schematics and build diagrams/instructions including the presentation of calculations for design briefs. Additionally you will have experience of electrical/electronic material and componentselection to ensure the end product delivers against client requirements.

The Person Required:

- Experienced Power Electrics/Power Electronics engineer from a specifications design/projects background
- Must hold a relevant electrical or power electronics degree or equivalent level qualification
- Remote working options in place, although must be available to attend the Chippenham location 2-3 days per week as required within the needs of the role/business.
- High degree of competency within interpretation of technical electrical specification and requirements
- Ability to compile accurate calculations against customer brief
- Create working design instructions for CAD engineers to develop finished designs ready for prototype production.
- Attend leadership/project meetings and customer specification/progress meetings where required.
