**Job Tile: Trainee Accountant / Accounts Payable Assistant**

**Location: Abingdon Oxfordshire**

**Salary: £20,000 £23,000**

**About the role;**

Working in a friendly team and assisting with Accounts Payable function for the Group of companies but also assisting with other areas of finance on an ad hoc basis.

**Main Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Checking, entering and matching invoices to purchase orders
- Seeking authorisation from relevant managers
- Credit Card Reconciliations
- Staff expenses
- Handling supplier queries in a timely and polite manner, escalating any queries to your manager as appropriate
- Working to deadlines and ensuring payments are made in a timely and responsible manner
- Month end close procedures
- Supplier statement reconciliations
- Undertaking additional duties as may be assigned from time to time
- Any other Finance duties to help the team as assigned by the AP Supervisor

**Person specification;**
- AAT qualified or ACA/ACCA part-qualified
- A background in purchase ledger is an advantage but system speed and accuracy are more important as on job training will be provided.
- Quick learner
- High levels of accuracy
- Friendly, resilient and confident personality with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organised, professional and accountable for your own work
- Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Good understanding of Excel
