Cornthwaite Group are a leading supplier global agricultural and horticultural brands and are one of the largest John Deere dealerships in the UK. We are looking for a Workshop Team Leader to lead and direct our Dumfries Service team for maximum efficiency and productivity.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Mentor and train Service Technicians & Apprentices to improve abilities and retention.
- Manage day to day workshop activities.
- Charge 50% of time (minimum) to chargeable jobs.
- Ensure maintenance standards are compliant and enforce all health & safety policies.
- Work alongside the Workshop Controller helping the Technicians and Apprentices complete tasks within the times set out (monitor & reports any problems).
- Build culture to actively promote Expert Checks and all other incremental service opportunities.
- Monitor key metrics monthly to assure achievement of departmental goals.
- Develop and mentor Technicians and Apprentices in all aspects of the workshop (technically and with common practices)
- Attend to major breakdowns and critical issues ; assist Technicians with difficult repairs.
- Greet customers if needed / work with Workshop Controller and Service Manager and listen carefully to their needs with strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ensure DTAC are completed to the levels required and the Service team are correctly trained to complete them efficiently.
- Direct and assist Technicians in their tasks to ensure repairs are completed correctly and timeously and ensure quality control of all workmanship.
- Exceed customer expectations and deliver distinctive quality with delivery/return of customer equipment.
- Coordinate with the Parts department to identify timing, delivery and return of necessary parts.
- Cover for the Workshop Controller when required to reduce disruption to workshop operations.
- Maintain warranty parts area with accurate record keeping for audits & dispose parts correctly.
- Responsible for the special tool inventory; recommends the purchase of new tools if necessary.
- Identify and recommend training for the technicians. Coordinates the training program with the Workshop Controller and Service Manager.
- Make recommendations regarding the purchase of Service vehicles, correctly maintains vehicles, and completes required maintenance records.
- Engage fully with all new technology being brought into the workshop.
- Ensure the workshop is clean, organised, and free of dangerous or hazardous material.

**Attributes we are looking for**:

- Strong leadership and mentoring skills
- Minimum of 5 years in the repair and maintenance of Ag/ Construction/ HGV machinery.
- Previous experience of having worked in a supervisory role for at least 12 months.
- Computer literate
- Ability to network and build relationships with customers, peers, and colleagues.
- Ability to prioritise workloads, time management skills and work in a fast-moving environment.
- Warehouse, factory, or workshop experience required.
