Personal Care Assistant/Support Worker/Befriender required to assist a teenager with a Physical Disability and Epilepsy, living in the Coatbridge area.

This individual lives in a fully adapted family home with 4 other family members. You would be required to frequently communicate with parents and be able to work alongside all family members.

Flexibility is essential as days/hours may change on a weekly basis. Thereafter, your duties would involve assisting with tasks such as:

- Provide assistance and accompanying to weekly clubs.
- Providing support at home, board games, XBox and various teenage activities.
- Occasional personal care needs (showering, toileting)
- Occasional help with homework using satchel one and Microsoft Teams - during school

term.
- Help to prepare meals and healthy snacks to support independent living.
- Occasional outings during school holidays or weekends.
- Moving and assisting - assisting with transfers.
- Any other daily living tasks to promote independent living
- Working weekends & school holidays are essential

The most important qualities are a warm and friendly nature and a desire to work within a caring role.

Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

**The role requires close personal contact with an individual who is extremely vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission.**

Preference may be given to applicants who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Careful consideration will be given to applicants who can show the vaccination is not suitable for them on reasonable grounds.

**Driver essential as you will be required to drive a wheelchair accessible mobility vehicle - training would be provided to ensure safety.**

**Experience is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.**

**Hours of Work (with a degree of flexibility)**

Recruiting for 1 position.

Guaranteed permanent position of 9 hours per week

**Days and times**:
2 x evenings

1 x weekend

During school holidays, 2-3 days per week

Hourly rate:
£12.50 per hour
