**Summary**:
Our client, an award-winning and dynamic Property firm based in Exeter, are searching for a Deputy Financial Controller to join them on a 12-month FTC basis. The main purpose of your role will be centered around managing the firm’s financial reporting function,including engaging in financial accounting and processing duties. You should be an ACA/ACCA Qualified Accountant, with 3-5 years PQE to your name.

This role will be undertaken on a hybrid basis, with a portion of your time spent working from the firm’s Exeter office, and a portion working from home.

**What will you be doing as a Deputy Financial Controller?**
- Managing the firm’s financial reporting function including financial accounting and processing.
- Ensuring compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures.
- Preparing statutory accounts and assisting in the preparation of tax calculations.
- Taking responsibility for the timely and accurate processing of journals, and assuring the reliability of the firm’s accounting records and financial systems.
- Overseeing all balance sheet reconciliations and control accounts, as well as VAT returns.
- Undertaking cashflow reporting and reviewing payroll submissions.

**Skills/Qualifications of a Deputy Financial Controller**:

- You should be an ACA/ACCA Qualified Accountant, ideally with 3-5 years PQE to your name.
- You should possess advanced Excel skills, and Sun Accounts/Financial Force experience would be advantageous.
- You will be experienced in preparing and reviewing statutory accounts, in group reporting and consolidation.
- Strong reconciliation and analysis skills are essential in this role, as well as an ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
- You should be able to initiate improvements within the firm, and be flexible to new systems and procedures.
- Prior experience in managing a team would be advantageous.
