We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our team in Peppers Alum Rock

**Duties**
- Assist with meal preparation and cooking as directed by the head chef or kitchen manager.
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are adhered to at all times.
- Help with the preparation of ingredients for catering events and restaurant services.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing up utensils and equipment.
- Support the team during busy service periods by helping with food preparation tasks as needed.
- Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency in food quality.
- Assist in inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to management.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
- Knowledge of food safety practices is essential; a food hygiene certificate is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new culinary skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
