**Location: Hybrid - KNUTSFORD Office 3 days / Work from home 2 days**
**Salary: £36k - £40k (dependent on experience)**

Founded in early 2018, Ninefeb UK provides technical documentation services for mechanical engineering companies and OEM transportation companies within the private and public sectors.

We now have a fantastic opportunity for a talented individual to join our expanding UK documentation company as a Technical Author. The successful applicant will join a specialist team providing technical documentation services across many diverse engineering sectors.

**Technical Author / Writer Duties**:

- Meeting customers and colleagues to discuss technology and authoring requirements
- Defining/implementing writing styles, graphical standards etc
- Writing the material clearly and concisely, making sure it can be easily understood
- Editing, proofreading and quality checks
- Testing the written material with the customer or end user
- Creating and maintaining trackers to allow managers or customer easy access to progress reports.

**Technical Author / Writer requirements**:

- **Previous experience within a TA/TW role and working knowledge of Engineering**:

- Experience in the creation of technical documentation
- Knowledge of engineering systems and demonstrable skills in the design, development and implementation of technical information
- An understanding of engineering principles and technical drawings
- Knowledge of structured authoring, using tools, such as XML/DITA based systems (Framemaker, Oxygen, Arbortext, ST4), Adobe Authoring Suite
- Knowledge of E-learning tools, 3D CAD systems and/or technical illustration an advantage but not essential.
- A working knowledge of German is also an advantage but not essential.
- Prepared to travel to customer sites (UK or abroad), if required.
- Driving licence required (though not essential initially)
