**About us**:
The Communities & Wellbeing service provides support and guidance to refugees, asylum seekers, people from Hong Kong & Ukraine as well as residents who need support to improve their overall physical or mental wellbeing.
The service also runs the Councils community centres, developing them into thriving community venues.
You will report to the interventions manager and work very closely with the asylum seeker and refugee programme development worker.
**The role**:
You will provide one to one support to asylum seekers, refugees, people from Hong Kong & Ukraine. You will support people to become independent and to integrate into Warrington communities by referring and supporting access to other services and activities.
You will run and support a range of activities that will support and improve people's mental wellbeing and afford them opportunities to meet others and to improve their English.
You will carry out assessments and create action plans to ensure that people become independent and ultimately will thrive and contribute to life in Warrington.
Most of the work will take place between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday (37 hours per week) but occasional evening and weekend work will be required.
You will work at sites across the town including a number of community centres and will be based at Orford Community Hub.
**What's needed?**:
You will need experience of providing one to one support and delivering group interventions to adults.
You need to be flexible, motivated to help people, be able to work independently, sometimes under pressure and have sound planning and organisational skills. You will link in with, and work closely with, a wide range of internal and external partners.
Experience of working with Refugees and Asylum Seekers is desirable. Knowledge of services in Warrington would be an advantage.
Knowledge of one or more languages used by people from other countries is desirable.
