Smart Solutions currently has a fantastic opportunity for a **Cabin Leader** to work for one of our clients, who is a waste and recycling specialist based in Tipton, DY4 area.
Shift pattern: Monday to Friday 06:00 am - 16:30 pm
Pay rate: £11.95
**Job Overview**:
The Cabin Leader at our recycling plant plays a crucial role in overseeing the line's daily operations, ensuring the efficient sorting and processing of recyclable materials, primarily cardboard, film and paper. This position requires good communication skills, attention to detail, and adherence to health and safety standards. The Cabin Leader will collaborate closely with the operations team and the Site Manager to maintain a smooth workflow and ensure that recyclable materials meet quality standards.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Language Skills**: The main communication will be conducted in English, but proficiency in Polish is desirable (but not required).
**Quality Control**: Monitor the sorting process to ensure that paper and cardboard materials are sorted according to quality standards and that non-recyclable items are removed.
**Workflow Management**: Coordinate with the Site Manager to manage daily workflow, including task assignment, shift scheduling, and productivity targets.
**Health and Safety Compliance**: Ensure that all team members follow safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear. Report any safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
**Reporting**: Track and report key performance metrics such as sorting efficiency, quality control standards, and any operational issues to management.
**Collaboration**: Work with other plant leaders and team members to streamline operations and meet plant production goals.
**Qualifications**:
**Experience**: Previous experience in a recycling plant or industrial environment preferred, particularly in paper and cardboard sorting.
**Attention to Detail**: Ability to maintain high standards of quality control and ensure that sorting processes are completed accurately.
**Health & Safety Knowledge**: Understanding of health and safety regulations in an industrial setting.
**Teamwork**: Ability to work well within a team and foster a positive work environment.
**Work Environment**:
Exposure to recycling materials, dust, and occasional loud machinery noise.
The role requires wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, hard hats, and safety glasses.
