Due to continued business growth and development of the Advisory sector, Arup has a new role for a Project Planner (scheduler) to join our busy group. You will work as a Project Planner and develop programmes (schedules) in P6 and MS Project as directed by the Project Manager or the needs of the project team.

You may work on one key project at a time for a long period or have multiple projects and be moved over to the next serving our business requirements, this will mean working on different project and possibly involve travel to different locations for on-site meetings.

You will be involved in projects across Arup UK which can include large public infrastructure projects relating to roads, highways and rail as well as building structures in the commercial and healthcare sectors.

You will support the growth of the Project Controls team by ensuring collaborative working with the team and delivering work to the correct standards expected of this role and seniority.

**The role**

In conjunction with senior members across multidisciplinary teams, the requirements are as follows:

- Provide Project Planning support to delivery teams in the following areas:

- Procurement
- Change Control
- Actions / Issues management
- Cost Management
- Contract and Procurement Management

It is essential that you possess strong written and verbal communication skills as well as an open minded and team orientated approach. Strong analytical skills and a pro-active methodical mind-set are essential for success within this detail-orientated environment.

**Essential Skills and Qualifications**
- Expert in Primavera P6 and Microsoft office suites
- Good working knowledge of NEC contracts or similar
- Has diverse planning expertise and project knowledge against a range of industries i.e. Environmental, Rail, Highways, Construction, Nuclear
- Has experience in reading tenders, contract and project control documentation to extract the necessary information to build a programme to client specifications.
- Co-ordinate and complete schedule progress updates in accordance with client deadlines and write accompanying programme narratives.
- Ability to co-ordinate and lead a project team to create a robust, logically linked, resource, cost loaded schedule from scratch

**Desirable Skills and Qualifications**
- Professional Certifications relating to planning
- Graduate level qualifications in a relevant construction / engineering discipline
- Membership of recognised professional institutions.
