Applications are invited for the above fixed-term part-time post working on the North Wales Clinical Psychology Programme, which is based within the School of Psychology, Sport and Exercise Sciences. The programme has been established for over 30 years and has unconditional approval from the BPS and on-going accreditation from the HCPC.

The appointee will be joining a small programme team and work closely with the Academic and Clinical Directors. The main purpose of the job is to assist the Academic and Clinical Directors in organising the curriculum and clinical aspects of training for trainees with a particular focus on systemic and intellectual disability strands. This is an exciting time to join the programme to develop this area of training and practice. They will be expected to act as a Training Co-ordinator for a small number of trainees. The Programme enjoys excellent working relationships with the Local Health Board Clinical Psychology services.

Overview

The School of Psychology and Sport Science houses two of Bangor University’s high performing departments: the Department of Psychology, and the Department of Sport and Exercise Sciences. The Project

Purpose of the Job

The main purpose of the job is to assist the Academic and Clinical Directors in organising the curriculum and clinical aspects of training for trainees.

Main

**Responsibilities**:
Specific Duties:

- Assist the Academic Director in organising the curriculum and developing academic teaching workshops for qualified clinical psychologists.
- Assist the Clinical Director in organising the clinical experience aspects of training for trainees and developing the supervisor training for qualified clinical psychologists.
- To become actively involved in the further development and delivery of teaching on the programme.
- Carry out research in an area of clinical psychology relevant to local and national priorities.
- Provide teaching for the NWCPP, to assist in curriculum development, and to co-ordinate academic input from other psychologists within their respective specialist areas.
- Act as Training Co-ordinator for the NWCPP.
- Provide clinical experience/placements for trainees on the NWCPP during their time in Trust clinical work.
- Act as an Internal Assessor for NWCPP academic assignments and thesis.
- Be a member of the NWCPP Board of Examiners.
- Be a member of the NWCPP Programme Team and to contribute as appropriate to administration as prescribed by the Programme Director.
