Working in a team of medical and support secretaries, your work will help support the clinical and clerical teams for the Gastroenterology Service.

To provide a comprehensive medical secretary/PA service to a set of named Consultant Gastroenterologists, Advanced Care Practitioners, and management team.

- ECDL/Typing or Business Studies Qualification

**Knowledge and Skills**:
**Essential criteria**:

- A good understanding of Microsoft Office and Outlook, audio typing experience (RSA II or equivalent)
- Previous experience as a Medical Secretary elsewhere or as a Support Secretary in an NHS Trust;
- General Knowledge of medical terminology;
- Good written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to work as a team member
- Ability to organise work independently and adapt to changing priorities;
- Ability to work under pressure;
- An ability to communicate with people at all levels.
- Excellent telephone manner including good listening skills
- Good attention to detail and a willingness to learn new skills

**Desirable criteria**:

- Knowledge of the Trust’s current Information Technology systems (e.g. Medisec, iSOFT, PAS).
- RTT knowledge or experience

**Experience**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Minimum of 2 years experiencing working in an administrative setting, with telephony and customer management systems/patient management systems, or equivalent.
