An exciting opportunity to join iHuman, working on Cultural Climate Models, a major new European research project investigating how culture models climate futures.
We are looking for a hard-working individual to join the team as a Research Associate, analysing multimodal climate change communication on social media platforms. You will take a lead role on the project’s social media work package, bringing your knowledge and experience of researching digital media and/or the social life of climate change to bear on the project. You will help to create innovative and insightful digital methodologies and analyses of how social media users are ‘modelling’ the future under climate change.
As well as the cross-Faculty iHuman, you will also be affiliated with the Department of Sociological Studies’ Digital Media and Society team, one of the UK’s leading centres of digital media research. The role includes funding for training and conferences.
**For this role, you will**:
- Have knowledge of expert debates in digital media platform studies and/or climate change communication
- Experience of, and skills in, managing projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Be able to prioritise your workload appropriately.
- Proven ability to work and deliver to specified deadlines
