**About A&R Tiles Ltd**:
A&R Tiles is a leading supplier of wall and floor tiles, known for quality products and outstanding service. With our new shop in Wincanton opening soon, we are recruiting a Sales Assistant to join our Shaftesbury branch, maintaining operations at our Shaftesbury shop whilst helping to establish our new Wincanton store.

**Job Purpose**:
The Sales Assistant will assist in the smooth operation of our Shaftesbury store, delivering excellent customer service and supporting day-to-day activities. This role will based primarily in our Shaftesbury branch, but may require working across both locations as needed, helping to ensure the successful launch and operation of the new Wincanton shop.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist customers with product selection, enquiries, and after-sales support to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends, reporting insights to the Area Shop Manager.
- Operate cash drawers and card payment systems according to company policies, ensuring accuracy and security.
- Support the preparation and packing of customer orders for distribution with proper documentation.
- Assist in the development and implementation of marketing content and in-store displays.
- Monitor and maintain stock levels, ensuring timely restocking and accurate records.
- Maintain the shop’s premises, fixtures, and equipment to ensure a clean, professional environment.
- Act as a key holder and ensure premises security after hours.
- Collaborate with the team to create a positive and supportive work environment.

**Qualifications, Skills, and Experience**:
**Required**:

- Customer service experience in a retail setting.
- Cash handling and payment system experience.
- Valid UK Category B driving license (for panel van operation).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic maths working out areas and percentages.

**Desired**:

- Experience in stock management and order processing.
- Knowledge of tile, flooring, or home improvement products.

**Personal Attributes**:

- Attention to detail, especially in stock management and store presentation.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility and professionalism.
- Ability to handle manual tasks, including stock handling and shop maintenance.
- Strong time management and adaptability in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Focused on delivering outstanding customer service.
