**Job Summary:**:CSA is building a new state of the art energy storage lab in Cleveland, Ohio where we are looking for an engineer with knowledge and experience in design, evaluation, and testing of cells, large-scale batteries, and energy storage systems to take the lead on testing these types of products in the new lab. This person will be directly responsible for managing certification and custom test projects, drafting test protocols based upon client needs, building custom test setups, conducting testing, reviewing / recording test results, and providing specified deliverables to our clients.

**Principal Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Conduct laboratory testing of cells, batteries, and energy storage systems and components including tests such as cycling, over charging, vibration, short circuit, shock, etc.
- Establish test plans and protocols, prepare work orders and test packs, communicate sample requirements, and review / conduct job safety analysis prior to testing.
- Interpret test results with mínimal guidance and supervision.
- Review client test methods and custom test plans to determine feasibility and confirm agreement with client on end objectives.
- Conduct construction evaluation of product designs from client supplied technical documentation package.
- Document compliance to applicable requirements in standard checklists.
- Ensure all test equipment and quality procedures are within guidelines.
- Provide technical briefings on new and existing requirements to clients.
- Assist sales with the preparation of quotations with relevant project details such as scope of work, work effort required, applicable requirements, etc.
- Independently manage multiple projects concurrently ensuring completion within specified time frames and cost deadlines.

**Preferred Education & Experience**:

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 6+ years of meaningful industry experience; or Degree in Engineering Technology or related technical field with 10+ years of meaningful industry experience.
- Thorough knowledge and experience in design, evaluation, and testing of cells, large-scale batteries, and energy storage systems.
- Certification/Testing experience with Light Electric Vehicle and Electric Vehicle certification/testing
- Super capacitor experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of relevant standards related to cells and batteries preferred. Common standards referred to are UL 1973, UL 9540, UL 2580, UL 2054, UL 2271, and IEC 62619.
