Bench Hand Joiner

**Job Summary**:
DAW Signs & Fit-Outs is looking for a skilled and motivated Bench Hand Joiner to join our busy workshop team. You’ll play a vital role in producing high-quality bespoke joinery for our signage and fit-out projects, working across a variety of timber-based materials.

**Responsibilities**:

- Interpret and work from technical drawings to produce accurate and bespoke joinery components.
- Fabricate and assemble wooden structures, fixtures, fittings, displays, and counters using a range of materials including MDF, plywood, laminates, and solid timber.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery to cut, shape, and assemble components to precise measurements.
- Perform heavy lifting and material handling tasks as needed in the workshop or on-site.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure all joinery meets specified standards before dispatch or installation.
- Work both independently and as part of a team to meet production deadlines and project timelines.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised bench area, following company safety procedures at all times.
- Be willing to travel to site for installation of items when required.
- Collaborate with workshop and production staff to maintain workflow and resolve challenges effectively.
- Contribute to toolbox talks and take part in maintaining health and safety in the workshop.

**Skills**
- Proficient in bench joinery and carpentry techniques
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as saws, drills, planes, and chisels
- Capable of reading and working from technical and scaled drawings
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to carry out heavy lifting and operate safely in a workshop environment
- Comfortable working at height, including on roofs if required
- Competent in assembling and fitting wooden fixtures, fittings, and structures
- Basic knowledge of related tasks such as electrical adjustments and plumbing during installations
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude and excellent communication skills

**Requirements**:

- 3 years’ experience as a bench hand joiner preferred or in a similar joinery role
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings with accuracy
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry & Joinery, or equivalent qualification preferred
- Willingness to carry out site installations when required
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Full UK driving licence desirable
- CSCS card preferred but not essential
- Must be eligible to work in the UK

Hours are Monday - Friday 08:00 - 16:30

Salary negotiable depending on experience

Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
