Manchester, United Kingdom Oscar Technology Full time

**Skills - SQL**
**Location - Remote**
**Salary - £45,000 / £55,000 Based on experience**

**The Company**

Oscar have worked with this client exclusively for years and have made a number of placements within their development and data teams. We have a new role available for a Database Administrator, this position is really focussed on the optimisation and development of their databases.

**The Role**

We are looking for someone to optimise their current databases. They do have a large data structure and gather large amounts of data from their customer base so we are looking for someone very adept in SQL who can get into the nuts and bolts of their systems.

Currently the majority of their databases are SQL Server and there is scope for upgrades, improvements and potential migrations. They are looking to implement AWS Postgres and move away from a SQL heavy system, so prior experience with AWS Postgres is desirable but not essential.

This is very much a tradition DBA position but with a focus on improvement and optimisation of their systems.

**Responsibilities**
- Automating of business-critical reports.
- BAU database administration tasks.
- Troubleshooting performance issues.
- Liaising with non-technical users to understand and solve data requirements.
- Creating the atomisation of archiving and purging of data.
- Executing back up procedures to protect data from loss or corruption.

**Requirements**:

- SQL programming
- AWS PostgreSQL is desired
- Database optimisation and improvements
- Skills in BAU Database Administration

**Benefits**
- 23 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays
- Paid Christmas Leave
- Pension
- Life Assurance
- Healthcare plan
