**Overview**

We’re looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with previous bookkeeping experience who is confident working independently and has a solid working knowledge of **SAGE** accounting software.

The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business. You’ll play a key part in keeping our finances organised and up to date, helping to ensure smooth operations and compliance with accounting standards.

This is a flexible part-time role (1 to 2 days per week), with school-friendly hours available.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Maintain and update financial records using **SAGE** accounting software
- Process purchase and sales invoices
- Reconcile bank statements and company credit cards
- Manage supplier and customer accounts
- Prepare VAT returns and support month-end processes
- Assist with payroll data entry
- Track expenses and ensure proper filing of financial documents
- Support the Director with ad hoc financial tasks as needed

**Skills & Experience Required**
- Proven experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role
- Strong working knowledge of **SAGE** software is essential
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and general office software
- Understanding of basic accounting principles and VAT
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks
- Confidentiality and professionalism when dealing with financial information

**Person Specification**
- Organised, methodical, and reliable
- Good communication skills
- Proactive and self-motivated
- Flexible and able to adapt to the needs of a small business
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

**Qualifications**
- AAT qualification (or part-qualified) desirable but not essential
- Previous experience using **SAGE** is a must
- Bookkeeping certification or similar training is beneficial
- Applicants must have the right to work in the UK
