Accordingly, we have an opportunity for a Caseworker.

The role of a Caseworker is to assist solicitors and litigators in preparing cases ready for court. The caseworker will work within our busy Private Crime Department, providing assistance where required to all team members.

**Responsibilities and duties**
- Assist all litigators throughout all stages of case preparation;
- Accurately time record for all work carried out on the case management system;
- Ensuring standards of files are met in accordance with the Office Manual and Lexcel standards;
- Provide the highest level of customer service;
- Undertake legal research and instruct experts when required;
- Confirming court dates with clients;
- Reception cover as requested;
- Any other duties as directed by the Team Leader, Deputy Team Leader, Clerk or a member of the Management Team.

**Person Specification**
- Experience in criminal law proceeding or working in a Solicitors office is desirable;
- Good communicator in both written and spoken English;
- Good understanding of client care requirements;
- Must be IT literate and be willing to learn;
- Excellent time management and organisation skills;
- Good team work ethics;
- Ideally have experience of handling own caseload of criminal cases;
- The ability to work within a high pressure and workload environment;
- Desirable but not essential to have some experience dealing with private paying client cases;
- Resilient with the ability to cope with ever-changing priorities.
