What’s the role all about:
Key activities will include:

- Help implement IT security strategy, policies and processes for the business
- Coordinate IT security related activities, risk assessments, and security management for the business to ensure that security threats to company personnel, assets and business operations/activities are properly identified, evaluated and mitigated.
- Based on intelligence and analysis of security threats and risk, conduct assessment of security measures and operations to protect the business’ people and critical assets and provide timely advice on their area to enable well informed business decisions.
- Ensure IT security compliance and an assurance framework for the business.
- Manage/support incidents and investigations and developing scenario testing and security plans as a response.
- Implement IT security operations and standards to meet business and contractual security requirements.
- Actively support business continuity and crises management planning and testing.
- Maintain a network with key external stakeholders where relevant and with key functions and business representatives.
- Support the development of the security culture in the business by raising security awareness among employees and management and role modelling the KBS values and desired behaviours.
- Drive IT security best practice through knowledge sharing to ensure consistency within their area and compliance with security policies and practices
- Accountable for the ongoing certification/accreditation. Reviewing, rationalising, revising and aligning policies with business strategy
- Accountable for ensuring all security projects and programmes meets with Customer and compliance requirements
- Supporting the KBS Supply Chain to ensure the use/completion of Security Aspects Letters (SAL) and managing the flow down of SAL requirements to 3rd parties / subcontractors

**Your key experience will be**:

- Cybersecurity Certification CISSP - Certified Information Systems Security Professional
- Significant experience working with Government / MOD in the security field to include comprehensive experience of working with HMG information assets in a secure environment
- Working knowledge of HMG Security Policy Framework, Information Assurance Standards and Good Practice Guides
- Strong, effective leadership, mentoring and conflict resolution skills
- Understanding of HMG personnel vetting processes
- Experience of driving continuous improvements in business processes and the ability to identify root cause corrective actions
- Highest ethical standards, integrity and conduct
- Excellent interpersonal skills to achieve effective partnerships and relationships in a multi-discipline environment.
