Scrap Yard Picker/sorter Must Have Metal Knowledge

Scrap Yard Worker WIMBORNE DORSET Mon to Friday 7-5

and every other Saturday 7-12 non negotiable.

**Duties**:

- At times help to Load and unload scrap materials from trucks and other vehicles
- Sort and separate different types of scrap materials
- Operate machinery and equipment to process scrap materials i.e disc cutters, tyre machines, tools
- Assist in the maintenance of tools, machines and equipment greasing/cleaning
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines while working in the scrap yard
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, sweep tidy up your work areas

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in a scrap yard or similar is a MUST
- Mechanical knowledge and ability to operate machinery safely not essential
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical labour consistently
- Familiarity with using a tablet
- Valid forklift certification is highly desirable but not essential as in house training is provided
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team and with the public

Pay: £11.44-£12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 50 per week
