**Job overview**:
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Haematology Unit at NCA - Salford

We require an enthusiastic and caring administration assistant to join our friendly team. You will be assisting with the 8 bedded inpatient and 9 chair daycase area. You will need good IT skills, a good telephone manner and excellent organisational skills.

We are looking for someone who wants a challenge and is willing to be flexible and part of a busy unit and make that positive first impression for our patients and relatives
- Ensure that stationery/supplies are ordered as necessary- Ensure that patient admission documentation is maintained appropriately and that a record is kept of clinical activity, as required- After appropriate training, take responsibility for accurate data entry and retrieval via computer e.g., P.A.S.**Main duties of the job**:
Act as ward receptionist to meet and greet our patients and visitors, including those with communication difficulties, on arrival to the ward in accordance with Trust standards and expectations

Ensure that patients are shown to designated waiting areas and inform the nursing team as appropriate.

Ensure that patient’s notes and other documentation are prepared as necessary, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

After appropriate training, take responsibility for accurate data entry and retrieval via computer e.g, P.A.S., Casenote tracking, pathology and other systems.

Ensure that discharged patient notes are returned promptly to appropriate secretaries or medical records department

Arrange follow-up appointments if required for daycase patients and discharged inpatients

Liaise between the ward and other departments, including Pharmacy, Pathology and Stores

Ensure that patient’s notes are made available prior to admission

Ensure confidentiality is maintain at all times
