Location: Livingston

Position: HGV technician

Shift pattern: 4 on 4 off days ( 6 pm to 6 am)

**Salary**: £20.00 per hour

We are currently looking to recruit 2 HGV Vehicle Technicians to join workshop based in Livingston. The appropriate HGV technician will perform a full range of inspections, MOT preparations, diagnosis, service, maintenance, and repair on a range of HGV vehicles

Successful HGV technician must be fully qualified to at least IMI Level 3 in heavy vehicle maintenance & repair or an equivalent qualification and have proven experience of working on HGV’s.

Responsibilities of HGV technician:

- Carry out inspection and repair of workshop equipment as directed
- Electrical, electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic fault diagnosis, repair and installation
- Overhaul electrical equipment and components
- Welding and metal working (if authorised & qualified)
- Department of Transport (MOT) testing duties (when suitably qualified)
- Support workshops team members including Apprentice Technicians as required
- Accurately record time to complete jobs and associated details
- Use of skills and performance of other work within normal grade/job skills as required by the Workshop Supervisor to maximise workshop efficiency
- Maybe the Technician in Charge or cover reception if required

**Skills & Experience of HGV technician**:

- Qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Goods maintenance or equivalent, or considered qualified by experience
- Excellent customer service mindset
- Great communication skills
- Ability to tackle all aspects of repair and servicing
- Diagnostics skills/qualifications - desirable
- Driving license
