Are you an experienced mental health practitioner with a core profession looking for an opportunity to develop and progress your clinical skills to a Band 7 position and have an interest in working with people with enduring mental health difficulties?

**Main duties of the job**

Alongside studying the post holders will specialise in providing therapeutic interventions to people with difficulties in emotional dysregulation who have often experienced developmental trauma and may have a diagnosis of Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder. The successful post holders will each join one of the four localities across the Black Country, including; Wolverhampton/Sandwell and Dudley/Walsall. This intensive training post will equip the post-holder to join the locality based DBT service and to provide a DBT service to clients with a range of complex problems for which DBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective. They will also support the existing services with DBT informed interventions and service development. The post
- holder will work in the service for 4 days of the week using the newly developed skills whilst attending the training programme for the other day.

**Education and Qualifications**

**Essential criteria**
- A recorded/registered qualification in one of the following at graduate level in mental health or learning disability nursing, social work, counselling (accredited level), occupational therapy, arts therapy, medicine (psychiatry/general practice), psychological therapy (HCPC registered), or CBT therapist (BABCP and HCPC accredited), or applied psychologist (HCPC registered)

**Experience**

**Essential criteria**
- Experience working in secondary care mental health service with people who have complex emotional needs, histories of trauma and personality and relationship difficulties.
- Demonstrates high standards in written communication
- Worked in a service where agreed targets in place demonstrating clinical outcomes
- Has received training (either formal of through experience) and carried out risk assessments within scope of practice

**Knowledge**

**Essential criteria**
- Demonstrates an understanding of a range of mental health difficulties and how it may present in Secondary Care
- Demonstrates a knowledge of the issues surrounding work and the impact it can have on mental health
- Demonstrates an understanding for the need to use evidence based psychological therapies and how it relates to this pos

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 24 months

**Salary**: £35,392.00-£42,618.00 per year
