To assist Principal Health and Safety Advisers in providing a full range of health and safety advice to all parts of the Brigade in a timely and effective manner, attending meetings and site visits as and when necessary.

To carry out thorough health and safety inspections of the Brigade's workplaces to ensure compliance with legislation and with internal procedures; and, to advise local managers where improvements are necessary.

To produce detailed reports resulting from workplace inspections.

To assist Principal Health and Safety Advisers in undertaking and reviewing risk assessment on a range of work activities.

To assist Principal Health and Safety Advisers on the investigation of accidents when required and/or to assist others with investigations.

To deputise for Principal Health and Safety Advisers as and when required
