**Job Summary**
The (HGV CLASS 2) Driver and warehouse operative plays a crucial role in supporting the delivery process assisted be a drivers mate. Loading and unloading goods, ensuring that deliveries are completed efficiently and safely. This position requires a keen attention to detail and a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of service. This is not a sales role. Drays, also known as crews, will work closely with each other, as well as the whole team to facilitate smooth operations within the warehouse and during transit.
**Responsibilities**
- Assist in loading and unloading goods from vehicles, ensuring that items are handled with care.
- Learn and develop navigating routes and delivering goods to various locations.
- Engage in picking and packing activities, ensuring accurate order fulfilment.
- Maintain an organised stock area, ensuring that materials are stored correctly.
- Operate forklifts safely when required, adhering to all safety protocols. Licence provided after probation if you do not have a licence.
- Perform lifting tasks as necessary, demonstrating physical stamina and strength. Manual handling training provided.
- Handle materials with care, ensuring that all items are accounted for during the delivery process.
- Collaborate with team members to build efficient workflows and enhance overall productivity.
**Skills**
- Proficient in picking packing techniques and stock management.
- Experience operating forklifts is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks consistently throughout the shift.
- Familiarity with warehouse management procedures for effective inventory control.
- Strong materials handling skills, ensuring safe transport of goods.
- Capability to build effective working relationships within a team environment.
- Competence in loading and unloading procedures to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Safe driving and an open mind for lateral thinking, and the occasional show.
